Freshwater Pearl Pendants - Charm of Pearls

Pearl pendants are popular among many different people but freshwater pearls are one of the most popular pearls because mainly of cost among other factors. A simple silver freshwater pearl can be a charm of a pearl at a very low cost at sometimes under $38. This is simply one of the best deals out there when looking for pearl pendants. Instead of spending over $2000 for a beautiful Tahitian pearl set in platinum one could use freshwater pearl and save a bundle as this is one of the charms of this type of pearl.

Freshwater pearl pendants are one of the most popular styles of pearls on this world and most people have at least one pearl pendant in their jewelry box. Probably most of these pearls are freshwater but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing, it’s just what it is and what is popular among the different types of pearls on the market today.

Freshwater pearl Earrings - "Grace and Sophistication"

One of the most successful pearl retailers I know in mainland China usually wears a beautiful white freshwater round necklace that looks better than most south sea pearl necklaces most people have the pleasure to see. Lingling from Lingling pearls in Beijing and Shanghai has one of the prettiest white freshwater necklaces that one can see and the size is quite impressive as well.

It radiates grace and sophistication when she wears these large 12-13mm round freshwater pearls. But of course she has to match her necklace with a pair of 12-13mm white freshwater pearls that look better than most White South Sea pearls as well. Her freshwater pearl earrings are one of the nicest pairs of earrings that just say sophistication and grace so simply and delicate. Freshwater pearls don’t have just be simple 7mm studs. These can be large freshwater pearls that are unparallel in size and beauty.

Pearl Pendant Varieties of Pearls

A variety of pearls can be used to make many different styles of Pearl pendants. With rose gold chocolate Tahitian pearls and lavender pearls seem to work the best. With black Tahitian pearls white or yellow gold seems to suit it much better as opposed to using pink gold to make the pearl pendant. It’s such that certain varieties of pearls work better with certain varieties of gold and semi precious stones that are used to make the overall design.

So it is with any type of gemstone but perhaps especially with Pearl pendants as the pearl is a very soft glow to begin with. Understanding this soft glow will help when choosing your choice of pearl pendant and metal used with the pearl. Pearls are not the intense brilliance of diamonds but rather the soft glow that is seen with pearls. Even freshwater pearls dressed up in a beautiful setting can make a dramatic impression to anyone that loves pearls.

Akoya Pearl Earrings - An Exquisite Choice of Jewelry

The most classic of pearls on the market is unquestionably the Akoya pearl. This is the oldest pearl to be cultured in modern times and is still very popular among pearl lovers worldwide. Large sizes always go for a premium but medium sizes are more popular and affordable to most consumers of these pearls.

Akoya pearl earrings are usually set in 14k or 18k yellow gold in studs or in a simple dangling style. Sometimes akoya pearls are mixed in with freshwater pearls to give a little more color to the pearl jewelry. Most of the popular sizes are six or seven millimeter round shape for the akoya earrings. Anything over eight millimeter starts to become very expensive as this size is mostly cultivated in Japan and is quite rare and pricey. There are even nine millimeter pearls on the market but these are extremely expensive and are usually not seen in jewelry stores.
