All cultured oysters have pearls inside. These mollusks have pearl nuclei implanted in their gonads, therefore they must produce a pearl, and this is what cultured pearls are all about. There are different types of mollusks that have their own range of colors for the pearls they produce, for example, the Pinctata maxima is a very large South Sea oyster that produces pearls of the silver and golden variety, better known as the South Sea golden pearls. Once the wish pearl is taken from the body of the oyster, three design choices of pendants are available to display your new pearl.
