Choosing an Oyster With Pearl

All cultured oysters have pearls inside. These mollusks have pearl nuclei implanted in their gonads, therefore they must produce a pearl, and this is what cultured pearls are all about. There are many myths regarding how to choose an oyster that may have a unique pearl inside, but these could very well be just myths. There are different types of mollusks that have their own range of colors for the pearls they produce, for example, the Pinctata maxima is a very large South Sea oyster that produces pearls of the silver and golden variety, better known as the South Sea golden pearls. Pinctata magaritifera oyster produces the famous Tahitian black pearls and so on. All pearls come in various sizes and shapes.

There are three types of oyster with pearls to choose from and they are oval freshwater pearls, round freshwater pearls and round saltwater pearls. These are all high quality pearls with beautiful luster. These pearls come in an array of colors and each color corresponds to a particular mode of nature, like passion, fortune, good luck and success. All of our oyster-with-pearl combos are quite reasonably priced and fun to assemble. No tools required, a child could do it; in fact, the children are quite fond of these pick-a-pearl from the oyster.
