Finding The Perfect Style and Size Cultured Pearl Necklaces

The perfect style and size of cultured pearl necklaces are crucial to a lady’s satisfaction. Because of the different types of pearl shapes in today’s market, the options are vast therefore making a decision on the perfect style takes a little for thought. Cultured pearl necklaces can also be classified as uniform, or graduated. In a uniform strand of pearls, all pearls are classified as the same size. A graduated strand of pearls most often has at least 3 mm of differentiation from the ends to the center of the necklace.

Pearls come in eight basic shapes: round, semi-round, drop, pear, oval, baroque, and circled. Perfectly round pearls are the rarest and most valuable shape. Semi-rounds are also used in cultured pearl necklaces. These symmetrical pearls are properly matched to give balance and a pleasing appearance to the strands.

Sizes of pearls vary greatly therefore the choices are varied in that department as well. Ranging from 6.5 mm to 12.0 mm, these cultured pearls are also strung in many lengths. While most other necklaces are simply referred to by their physical measurement, pearl necklaces are named by how low they hang when worn around the neck. A collar, measuring 10 to 13 inches in length, sits directly against the throat and does not hang down the neck at all. Chokers measure 14 to 16 inches in length, nestled just at the base of the neck. The princess measures 17 to 19 inches in length and these come down to or just below the collarbone. The matinee measures 20 to 24 inches in length and falls just above the breasts. An opera length necklace measures 28 to 35 inches and these are long enough to reach the sternum of the wearer. And finally the pearl rope which measures 45 inches in length and is any length that falls farther than an opera length necklace.

So these are attributes to consider when shopping for the perfect style and size of necklaces.

Pearl Powder

About 40% of all the nucleated mollusks will yield usable cultured pearls. Out of so many thousands of cultured pearls, a small percentage of the gems are of jewelry quality and out of so many of these, only a few are of the AA class, making flawless and high sheen pearls rare.

Many unusable pearls are ground to a powder. The pearl powder is then used in other products. In India, many people ingest pearl power for health reasons. In today’s markets, pearl powder is an ingredient of women’s facial care products, also toothpaste. Many remedies for strengthening bones require pearl powder.

This pearl powder is used in many of our products such as soaps, facial creams, bath gels, bath salts, and lotions. All of these “Aloha Pearls” products have pearl powder as a main ingredient. Pearl power is known for rejuvenating skin cells. You can purchase any of these products on line. One of our products that is worth mentioning here is “Aloha Pearls Pearl Cream” that has rejuvenating pearl powder for renewing skin cells and natural facial cream that moistens the skin. The creams are scented with island fruits and flowers like passion fruit and plumeria.
